Snow days are one of the best and worst parts of the winter season. Kids in Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie look forward to a surreptitious day off, but many parents still have the responsibility of going in to work regardless of the weather. Often, daycares close down on those very days that you need them most, leaving you scrambling to find someone to watch your children or forcing you to take a day off that you can’t afford. Worse still, some daycares do not have an efficient procedure to notify parents quickly, leaving no time to call in backup!
Child Safety and Parent Communication
Consistent parent communication and child safety are at the core of Kiddie Kare A’Kademie’s values. We do not close based solely upon what Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) determines, but upon our own gauge of weather conditions, keeping everyone’s safety at the forefront. No matter the situation, all weather-related closure decisions will be announced by 5:15 AM both on our Facebook page and the school closures listing through TMJ4.
For those chilly days, we encourage all students to bring their cold weather gear to enjoy the snow if the weather permits! To keep every child healthy and safe, outdoor play time is held when the temperature is above 25℉, taking windchill into account, so that Kiddie Kare kids flourish through the lifelong benefits of fresh air and active play.
