When Pleasant Prairie and Kenosha parents are considering an early education facility for their children, they often make a priority list that usually has “safety” as the number one concern.
We at the Kiddie Kare A’Kademie in Pleasant Prairie have been providing a secure environment where children can concentrate on learning for 45 years.
Our employees are attracted to Kiddie Kare because they know we take safety seriously. They see that by the questions we ask and the rules we have in place. Our teachers, assistants, administrative staff and even custodians are all committed to the same goal – providing a safe and nurturing environment where learning takes place.
Parents look to policies on background checks as an indication of how serious a facility takes safety. At Kiddie Kare A’Kademie we strictly abide by what Wisconsin law requires with regard to background checks. We go further in that we develop partnerships with parents so that we can address any concerns children bring home. We keep the communication open and pride ourselves in hiring teachers who are as trained and committed to the safety of your children as their parents are.
Child/teacher ratios are regulated in Wisconsin. As they should be. At Kiddie Kare A’Kademie we understand that toddlers need almost constant attention. As your children get older, the staff/child ratios become less stringent, but we have learned, through experience, that fewer students per teacher works better at any age.
We pride ourselves in the quality and thoroughness of every aspect of our responsibility. This includes safety.
A good example of this is the extensive database we keep on our students. Included are all of the usual demographics (name, address, phone number, date of birth) as well as information specific to the student about things like allergies.
We also keep careful notes about who is allowed to pick up your child as well as who is NOT ALLOWED. We know the parent’s workplace and all of the emergency information. This information is kept on an “emergency card” which is referred to when someone arrives to pick up a child.
Early in the year, when teachers are still learning about the students and parents, we refer to those cards often. If we are not sure, we ask for an additional piece of identification. If you call in to inform us somebody else will be making the pick-up, we ask for a physical description over the phone and ID at the pickup. Parents are allowed to keep pictures of people authorized to pick up their child in our files as well.
Kiddie Kare also understands the importance of keeping the classroom free of germs. We use Citris Fresh Oils to disinfect our classrooms and the entire school twice a day. In addition, our custodians use Thieves Cleaner to disinfect floors, tables, toys and all hard surfaces.
We do not serve nut products in any of our meals or snacks as to avoid any risk of exposing your allergic youngsters. If you have concerns about a specific item on our menu for any given day or week, we allow parents to substitute with a bagged lunch.
Kiddie Kare A’Kademie has a reputation for keeping Kenosha and Pleasant Prairie children safe. They’ve grown up here and now many return to tell us how Kiddie Kare provided them with a solid foundation of safety from which to begin their education.
By stressing safety in everything we do, Kiddie Kare A’Kademie is able to create a happy, trusting environment for our parents and the children. They are able to learn and develop social skills with their classmates.
Kiddie Kare A’Kademie – where safety comes first.
