The April teacher of the month at Kiddie Kare A’Kademie is Ms. Jenni. She is the lead teacher in the Elmo Room.
Working with children is something that Jennifer Boots knew she wanted to do since high school, when she took her first class in early childhood education. She has been putting those skills to work now for seven years, four of which have been at the Kiddie Kare A’Kademie in Pleasant Prairie.
Ms. Jenni, as she is known to the enthusiastic children who attend the A’Kademie on a daily basis, has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education. She knows she is making a positive impact on the children when she sees the look on their faces when they are working on a task and they realize they understand it and can now do it on their own.
“The look on the children’s faces is the best reward,” she said. “I also love how excited they are to see me when I arrive in the morning, or even when I return after I stepped out of the room for a minute or two.”
Jenni said she is hopeful that the children describe her to their parents as “fun and loving”.
Jenni credits the Kiddie Kare A’Kademie’s success to the amazing teachers who, without exception, care passionately about the children there. She said the fact that Kiddie Kare is smaller than many of the preschool education facilities in Kenosha andPleasant Prairie means that it is easier for the teachers to get to know the parents as well as the children. “That is important,” she said “in delivering the excellent services the parents have grown to expect and deserve.”
She said Kiddie Kare also has a low teacher turnover rate and a well-rounded curriculum specifically designed for each age group in the school.
When she is not at work, Ms. Jenni enjoys spending time with her family, baking and reading.
“Kiddie Kare A’Kademie has been a great choice for me,” she said. “I like to believe it has been even more positive for the very talented and beautiful young people who have come through our doors.”
